HowTo install the USB driver |
In order to run alphaLCD, you do not need a connected USB display. If alphaLCD could not find a display connected to the USB, it switches to a "Desktop display", so you can preview the program and it's features.
If you have an Alphacool USB display, you need a special USB driver for the display. In this case you must check the installation option "USB Display" during installation of alphaLCD to install the driver too.

If you connect the display to the USB the first time, Windows will start the hardware wizard to get the right driver files.

Now there are two ways to install the USB driver:
1. If you have already installed alphaLCD but without the option "USB display" or have not installed alphaLCD yet, just cancel the wizard. Install alphaLCD and follow the steps under 2. or go the place where you have installed alphaLCD in your Windows start menu. The default location is Start - Programs - Alphacool - alphaLCD (beta) and choose the Driver icon. In the opened folder start the program INSTALL and follow the steps thru the installation.
2. If you have already installed alphaLCD with the option "USB display", check the option "No, not this time", because you already got the lates driver with the installation of alphLCD. Choose Next.

Leave the default options and choose Next until the wizard completed the installation.
Start alphaLCD and the display should work perfectly.
